Eagle Athletic Update
Thursday 1/29/26, we will play Boles with varsity only at home, starting at 4:30 with VG. Boys will follow.
Friday we play all 4 teams at Cooper starting with JVG at 4:30.
Softball scrimmage has been cancelled versus Rivercrest. If there are any other changes, we will post them.

Even though most major roadways are clear, many of our bus routes remain a sheet of ice. As much as we hate to close again, in the best interest of our student drivers, parents, and especially our bus drivers—and following the advice of county officials who have been out driving our roads—school will be CLOSED on Thursday.
Please watch for athletic schedules to be posted once schools have finalized plans.
We will try another late arrival on Friday, with school beginning at 10:00 a.m. and doors opening at 9:30 a.m.

Unfortunately, weather conditions did not improve as we had hoped, and school will be CLOSED on Wednesday.
We are planning for a late arrival on Thursday. School will begin at 10:00 a.m., and buildings will open at 9:30 a.m.
All athletic activities will be rescheduled and posted later today.

Weekly Eagle Athletic Schedule
We had a great night on Friday night with the opening of the Lenise Miller Boseman Gymnasium!! Our cheerleaders were loud and supportive, our fans showed up, and we even had a winner with our half-court shot!! All three teams came away with victories on the night and we were excited to honor such a legend in our community in Ms. Lenise! She has touched countless lives in her 50 plus years of service to Como-Pickton CISD, and she's not done yet! We thank everyone involved in Friday's opening from our maintenance crew, cheerleaders, athletic booster club, school board, our admin team, Triple Crown Roofing, and of course our fans! We have a great supportive community and we look forward to great things here in Como-Pickton!!

Eagle Pride Alert! Our 4th and 5th grade students competed in the 48th Texas Conservation Awards Program. The students were given the Theme. "Soil. where it all begins". They created posters to express what this theme meant to them.

It was a tremendous honor to be part of delivering a First Lady Eagle Basketball win on opening night, especially in front of such an energized and supportive crowd in the brand new Lenise Miller Boseman Gymnasium. Every player contributed, whether it was strong defense, unselfish passing, hustle plays, or clutch scoring. We are so very proud of you 🦅

Your Varsity Eagles were in an early fight with PTAA Greenville this evening and came out the second half swinging!! They were able to grab the lead at the end of the 3rd quarter and never looked back in the 4th quarter pulling away 51-32!! The win gave the Eagles a clean sweep on the opening night of Lenise Boseman Gymnasium, as every team came away with a win!!
Our boys will be back in action on Tuesday, January 27th at home versus Boles!!
What a way to start the night in the brand new Lenise Boseman Gymnasium!! Our JV Boys had a huge victory coming back to win 37-33!! All players contributed to the victory and played with a lot of fight and heart all the way til the very end! Congratulations to these young men!!

Huge congratulations to Maud Poortvliet and Saylor Smith on receiving their Volleyball All-State Academic certificates! These young women set the standard, dominating in the classroom and on the court. Proud of them!

According to the Hopkins County Emergency Management Team and the National Weather Service, winter storm conditions are not expected to arrive in Hopkins County until Friday evening between 6–8 p.m. Therefore, CPCISD WILL be in school all day Friday with regular school hours.
Due to anticipated ice, snow, and extremely low temperatures on Saturday and Sunday, CPCISD will be CLOSED on Monday.
A decision regarding school on Tuesday will be made Monday afternoon.
Please be sure your phone numbers are up to date in Ascender, as we will continue to send text alerts. Continue to monitor CP Facebook posts and text alerts for updates.

There have been some changes in the schedule!
Due to weather this Saturday and Monday, both scrimmages have been canceled.
We will now play at Rivercrest on Thursday Jan 29th at 4:30.
The Quitman Scrimmage has been changed to Feb 5th at Lone Oak. We will scrimmage Lone Oak and Quinlan Ford.
Other notable Changes:
Fruitvale has FFA and we have had to move that game to Saturday March 14th
Hawkins game has been moved to Friday April 3rd
Martins Mill start time has been moved to 4:00 due to them not having lights.
