MESSAGE FROM OUR SUPERINTENDENT
Dr. Greg Bower
Welcome to Como-Pickton Consolidated Independent School District. I am honored to lead such a wonderful school system. CPCISD is unique in so many ways, but I believe that what truly distinguishes us is our school community's dedication to the students we serve. Our students set themselves apart as a result of their character and respectful nature. This is a direct result of the community standards and values that have been instilled in our students at an early age. Our staff strives to mold our students to achieve success after high school. Today, they are our learners. Tomorrow, they will be our leaders.
My philosophy of education is simple: I believe that all students can learn, all students want to learn, and celebrating student success creates more student success. Before coming to Como-Pickton CISD I served as Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction of Quitman ISD - Principal of Crosby High School - Principal and Associate Principal of Corsicana High School - English Department Chair, English Coordinator, English Teacher, Football and Track Coach in Garland ISD - and English and History teacher at Scurry-Rosser Junior and Senior High School. I graduated from Union Grove High School in 1992 before attending the University of Texas at Tyler where I earned a Bachelor's Degree with a major in History and a minor in English in 1997. I followed that degree with a Masters in History in 2003 from UT Tyler and Principal certification from Texas A&M Commerce. I received my Superintendent certification from UT Tyler, and I completed work on my Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Lamar University.
